Summary of the Opaque Fencing Screening Surface Sites Video
Hi, Phil Hundl here. I’m out on a site visit in Hamilton County and wanted to bring something to everyone’s attention. We see this from time to time when dealing with surface sites or valve sites. In the background, I have a valve site that is actually larger than a typical valve site, so I’ll call it a surface site. It has opaque fencing or slatted fencing around it, which, if you’re a landowner, is something you may want to request. Talk to your attorney about requesting this be put up around the surface site in the hurricane fencing.
The one in the background is tan, but I’ve seen them in various colors, ranging from tan to a camouflage color, depending on what people request. In the background here, we have the Magellan surface site, and as you can see, there is no opaque fencing or slatting in the hurricane fencing. This is a good example of the difference between the two. You can see at the same time, one with opaque slatting or lattices and one without.
Hopefully, if you’re a landowner and have been notified that a condemnor pipeline company is going to have a surface site on your property, you will want to know exactly what that will include. You can also request, if you wish, to have this type of slatting or opaque fencing.
