Houston Area Public Input on Texas Eminent Domain Law
Do you have something to say to the legislature about Texas Eminent Domain Law? On May 9, 2018, there will be a public meeting hosted by the Texas House of Representatives, Committee on Land & Resource Management to gather public input on Texas eminent domain statutes.
The Committee will hear invited and public testimony to examine Texas’ eminent domain statutes to ensure a balance between necessary infrastructure growth and fair compensation for landowners. The Committee is also charged to review available public information and data relating to the compensation provided to private property owners. This process will allow the Committee to make recommendations to improve the accountability, as well as successful development, of the entities granted eminent domain authority.
This hearing on Texas eminent domain law will be held at Texas Southern University’s School of Education Auditorium at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 09, 2018. The address is 3100 Cleburne Street, Houston, TX, and the Committee Chairman is Rep. Abel Herrero.
