In this video, Landowner Rights Attorney Phil Hundl describes the Rio Bravo Pipeline Project and the Texas counties affected. If you’re a landowner impacted by the project, it is crucial that you start working with an experienced lawyer early in the property condemnation process. If we can help you, please call us at 800-266-4870 or text our office at 979-320-9320. Our office is in Wharton County, but we help landowners all over Texas.
Summary of the Rio Bravo Pipeline Project Alert for Landowners
Hi, Phil Hundl here with a quick pipeline alert. First off, I hope everyone has recovered from the recent hurricane in July. We had our share of tough times here in Wharton County, but hopefully most everyone in the Houston area has their power back on. So let’s jump right into this pipeline alert.
This has come to our attention as the Rio Grande LNG project or Rio Bravo Pipeline project, as it’s being referred to. I’ll call it the Rio Bravo. You may hear me say the Rio Grande LNG as well. In 2019, FERC approved this project. I’ll have the information on the blog about the project they approved. They approved the Rio Bravo Pipeline Project, and now landowners are being contacted.
Rio Bravo Pipeline Description
This is going to be a two-pipeline project with 42-inch diameter pipelines. Everyone wants to know what counties are affected. If you’re in Jim Wells County, Kleberg County, Kenedy County, and Willacy and Cameron Counties, those are the counties that are going to be affected.
I’m going to scroll while I’m talking to you all on my map. This project starts really west of Kingsville right on the Jim Wells and Kleberg County line there, and it’s going to run diagonally southeast, then drop into Kenedy County and run south. This is approximately a 135-mile project that dips down into Willacy County, crosses Willacy County, then goes into Cameron County, and then out into the Port Isabel area. I call it South Padre, but it’s to the proposed LNG terminal.
This is an important project for Enbridge. Enbridge is one of the companies involved with this project. If you receive something from Enbridge talking about the Rio Bravo pipeline, that’s what they’re talking about. As a landowner, always know your rights. Know what their obligations are, what they have to do, and also your rights as a landowner.
