Summary of the Trident Pipeline Alert Video
Hi, Phil Hundl here with a quick pipeline update on the Trident pipeline. Now this is the large 42-inch diameter gas pipeline that we’ve talked about. It’s a Kinder Morgan project. It’s going to be affecting several counties including Waller, Grimes, Walker, San Jacinto, Jefferson, Walker County, and Hardin County, Liberty as well.
So we’ve become aware of the right of way agents at TRC have been requesting temporary access for surveying. But they are now, the attorneys that Trident, the three firms that Trident has hired, are now proceeding with filing applications for temporary injunctions on those landowners who have not agreed to temporary access agreements. I’ve spoken about temporary access agreements and my view on those to make those very limited or as limited as possible. And also, what can happen at a temporary injunction hearing, but as far as now we’re understanding that yes, Trident is proceeding with getting TROs and then that will mean that there’ll be a temporary injunction hearing for more temporary access for Trident. So, if that Is discussed or mentioned about a TRO or temporary restraining order and a temporary injunction. That’s what that means.
Also, information that’s come to our attention, that’s also something that is concerning is the mention of the permanent easement area being 100 feet wide, and that is a very, very wide permanent easement area for a pipeline. We see 50-foot-wide permanent easement areas. We also see 30-foot-wide permanent easement areas. But this mention now of a 100-foot wide permanent easement area is very concerning.
We’ll continue to monitor that and find out and get more information as we get that additional information. We’ll try to bring that information to you all, the landowners. So, if you’re a landowner affected by or possibly affected by the Trident Pipeline, please learn as much as you can about eminent domain and the condemnation process and all your rights and their responsibilities and obligations.
Okay, good luck.
